Not a Superior Stay but the Valet is awesome

The room left little to be desired. The house keeping didnt even get there until almost 6:00 at night and the room had a bad musty smell. Nothing was really consistent and they need to work on that. One thing was amazing.. the valet. They were the rock stars of my entire trip even though I had an issue they resolved it quickly to everyone satisfaction

Location, Location, Location!

The hotel has a fantastic location right next to Bourbon street (French Quarter), The hotel is very busy, but staff is helpful if you need anything. I bought a suitcase and I had to take the wheels off to fit in my other suitcase and they did that for me! I was upset that the pool was closed. There is a McDonalds right beside the hotel, convenient for a quick and cheap breakfast

First time to New Orleans

I brought my 26 yo son, his girlfriend and my 88 yo mom down to New Orleans - first time for all of us. As a Spire Elite who travels extensively - Ireyaun who checked me in acknowledged my status, provided us with upgrades and was a sweetheart...professional, cheerful and efficient. The hotel is located in a great location just off of Bourbon St, near the trams and close to shopping and dining establishments. For the price - not sure if there is a better location. My room was overlooking Bourbon St and noise was not an issue. Sure, valet parking lot was a few blocks away but not an issue considering everything else we got. (wouldn't want to drive in New Orleans anyways) No question if I come back to NOLA - Crowne Plaza Astor is where I will stay

Wonderful experience, lovely hotel, best location and best value in the French Quarter

We chose the Astor Crowne Plaza primarily for its great location near all the action on Bourbon Street and gorgeous lobby, but also near the stores and streetcars on Canal Street. You can catch the St. Charles streetcar to the Garden District and its wonderful restaurants and parks by simply walking across the street. At the time we booked, it offered the lowest price of all the 30+ hotels on Canal Street, that we saw. Despite the hotel being fully booked and crazy busy with all the football games and big parade scheduled for the November 24-25 weekend, reception clerk Enock gave us the nicest experience ever checking in. He made sure all our requests were fulfilled - a high floor not in the Alexa tower and away from the noise of Bourbon Street. The room he gave us was perfect--11th story, one room away from Canal Street with a view of Canal Street--gorgeously remodeled just 2 years ago--two Queens with plenty of space and with flattering big ElectricMirror in the bathroom. A big thank you to other TripAdvisor reviewers who advised what section to avoid. Breakfast downstairs in Dickie Brennan's Bourbon House was a wonderful buffet, with eggs and French Toast with strawberries and blueberries made to order with a smile by chef Lewis. The Cajun-style grits were excellent. There was so much to choose from we couldn't sample it all, but everything was delicious. Housekeeping was not perfect - with 700 rooms perfection would be hard to come by - but we had no complaints, and all the staff members we encountered were super friendly and welcoming. There were free copies of the Wall Street Journal in the lobby every morning. The room had a coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. They let us print our boarding passes in the business center room near the lobby without charge. The business center has three computers one could use for free, and there was no charge to use their printer or paper. Regarding the wrist bands another reviewer complained about - those were only for the busiest weekend and were, in my opinion, the best solution to ensure the best experience possible for guests of the hotel. I am personally grateful they allowed only actual guests entry

They let us in early

My wife and I disembarked our cruise ship on a Saturday morning fully intending to spend the day sighting seeing for our first time stop in New Orleans. However my wife woke up sick that morning so we headed straight to the hotel. No problem for them as they quickly found us a room even though we were hours early. Thank yo
