Conveniently located

It’s very conveniently located in French Quarter area and reasobably priced than the high end hotels around. As long as you are inside the hotel, it’s fine. Did not feel very comfortable walking around after dark. Even during the day, there are too many street drunkards, spitting or throwing up on the sidewalk. Can hear the street noise of people playing drums or playing music all the way to 12th floor - interestingly enough, they provided ear plugs on the bed. Could walk to many places or take the city tram that connected to in and around New Orleans. If you are a vegetarian, you had it - this is not one of the vegetarian friendly towns. It was very hard to find vegetarian food in the hotel or around that area

Nice but...

Stayed in the executive suite for an extended weekend vacation. The suite was very spacious and beautifully furnished. The lobby was very inviting. The front desk staff was very courteous and accommodating. Steps away from Bourbon Street and within walking distance to great food and shopping. They provide complimentary ear plugs for the street noise from the festivities on Bourbon Street but the room itself was very noisy with building noise. The sound from the heat running in the bedroom was so loud the TV had to be turned up loud to even hear it. The heat in the suite was not that warm. With the thermostat turned up to 78° and the room was still chilly. In the early morning hours had to wake up and put a sweat jacket on to fight the chill. The water temperature in the shower barely reached lukewarm at the highest setting. The water was scorching hot if you decide to take a shower at 5pm. There was no refrigerator in the suite but the front desk did have one delivered when questioned about it. There is no microwave in the room nor in the entire building for use. For the price not sure we would return on our next visit

Great Location, but GREATLY overrated

I have stayed here twice now. The location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. The Bourbon House restaurant downstairs is fantastic, and it is an absolutely beautiful atrium. However, this last say we had for a Saints/Pelicans weekend left so much to be desired it was unbelievable. 1- We reserved a king bed- we settled for a double for the same price. Not the end of the world, but they could have at least planned. 2- There was a dirty plate left outside our room for pretty much our entire stay. 3- The shower would not drain and would not get hot. It was around 40 degrees outside and we could not even get hot water. Pretty ridiculous. 4- We had to basically beg for towels. 5- We tried to have breakfast downstairs before the Saints/Panthers game, but we could not even get our order taken because of only one person working. I have worked in restaurants for over 9 years, and I even got her attention to say to make sure she didn't forget us, but people were able to walk right up to the bar and place orders while we continued to sit unattended to. We were able to walk down the street to Daisy Dukes and get a great breakast! 6- Easily the hardest beds I have ever slept on in a hotel. I understand there are different preferences, and I am very un picky usually about a bed, but it so hard to the point it hurt my back. 7- In quite possibly the biggest ridiculous of all was the situation with valet parking. Due to the location, the need for valet is obvious. However, when we were ready to leave on Monday, we were told there was a "shuttle" coming while we stood in the rain with around 20-30 other guests who were also trying to leave. We finally decided to take a taxi to the garage. The parking attendants were at least trying, but they were confused about where our car was, as there was very little communication on how the car was to be found. This cost us a good 45 minutes that we lost at the World War II museum. Pretty ridiculous for the amount of money we paid

If you are over 25 or have a car, AVOID at all cost.

Lets start with the rooms. The walls are very thin and if you're on the Canal Street side be prepared to use the complimentary ear plugs as the windows don't protect from the all night party outside. The beds are very firm (borderline hard) as well. If you have a car, BEWARE. The hotel takes no responsibility for the "as advertised" valet service. Imagine my surprise when I wanted to take a day trip and had to "shuttle" to the parking deck that my car was in. For $47 per night, I should NOT have to shuttle to my car 6 blocks away. There is plenty of parking lots much cheaper just around the corner from the hotel. When I complained to the front desk I was informed that the valet is a separate company and they had no control over it. Word of caution: If you don't plan to party all night, can't sleep like a teenager, or are bringing a car with you, avoid this hotel

Disappointed Spire Member. Nice but...

This was a quick Christmas overnight trip to New Orleans to experience some family time Downtown. My reviews are fact based and may sometimes seem that I expect too much. However, I am a loyal IHG member who has achieved Spire Status and I feel that some things need to be reported so that management can fix the small issues. When checking in, I was recognized as a Spire Member by Michael but was not offered a welcome amenity as I have been in the past. Michael is very hospitable and patient, as you will learn as the writing progresses.. We booked an Alexa room (Not knowing what that was). The Alexa rooms are in a remodeled old building. The rooms have historic charm, including exposed brick on the walls. The rooms in this tower are nice. However the first room we were given had the view of a parking garage and a caved in roof in the building below our room. I called the front desk and got guest services. Don't remember her name, but she didn't seem concerned about my issue and told me I would need to go back downstairs. I was a bit disturbed that she refused to assist since I am a spire member and she was guest services. I mean really. I Trekked back down to Michael. He moved me to a room on the Alexa wing that he said had a view of Canal St. When we got to that room, we looked out the window and saw a couple with their children in the room across the way. Maybe 30 feet. The room was small. It had charm, but not looking forward to a view of another family's room. Back downstairs to see Michael. He moved us to a"Deluxe Floor" in the other tower. Not sure what the deluxe meant. the room was oversized and on the top floor. The room was comfortable but the sounds from the hall were extra noisy. The sound really carried through the halls. So not sure what was the deluxe part. The only window in this room was a small window like you have on a bedroom on your house. Not really a "viewing window" On checkout, the room folio placed under the door overnight indicated, that as an IHG club member, I would receive an email that had a link to check out. I never received such an email. Not sure why their folio indicates something that doesn't happen. I'm sure someone can explain that. So I had to wait in line to check out. We used the valet service to park. $50 to park overnight. Retrieving car took longer than expected but staff was friendly about it. We also stored our bags briefly after checkout with the bell staff. that part was easy and the staff was friendly. I know this review may sound stuck up. But I am a bit of a hotel snob, which is why I exclusively deal with IHG properties. This was my first at a Crowne Plaza property. I expected more and was disappointed. I like to tell the facts so that you can make an informed decision about where to stay. the room rates in NOLA are higher than most places. I don't feel that this Crowne Plaza lived up to the price and expectation. Our next weekend getaway will probably not be at this IHG property
