Great Location

We came to NOLA for the sugarbowl. The Astor was the perfect location between the Superdome and the French Quarter. Easy access to the street car, bus, etc. Rooms were clean & very spacious. Only unfortunate thing was the slightly warm shower in our room. The building engineer stopped by, but was not able to fix it. Remember overnight parking in NOLA is pricey, so plan on budgeting an additional $45/night. Call the valet with your ticket number prior to heading out, as the wait can be up to 30min.

Great Location

This hotel is easily walkable to the French Quarter and river, short Uber ride to the Garden District or other surrounding neighborhoods. Clean room, nice sheets! If you get cold, blast the heat because the blanket is very thin. If you’re traveling with anyone else, you’ll have to call for more towels, they only stock the room with 2. Also, pro tip: If you want clean hair, bring your own shampoo, the provided shampoo actually makes your hair feel dirtier upon drying

Great location but not again

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza 12/26/18-12/30/18. Pulled up to the hotel and waited for 20 min in a long line until we decided to get out of the car and find out what the hold up was and the line for valet 🙄 we decided to get out and take our luggage out about a block down because of the line. Valet at the hotel was $52 for for 24 hrs!!!! 2 blocks over at a parking garage we found parking for $16 for 24 hrs 🥰 so of course we decided to park there. First room at check in was given to the tower facing right of hotel (there are two towers). The room was super small and the window opened up to another wall. Requested another room and got a room in their “new” tower and the rooms were more modern than the other side. No microwave in either room. Very nice however walls are very thin. We could hear the neighbors talking and we could hear the motor of the elevators allllllllll night. The hotel is on the corner of Canal and Bourbon... wonderful view and great location. Didn’t pay for breakfast due to reviews. Close to everything but don’t think I would stay here again. Have stayed at a few other hotels (4th time going), really don’t think I’ll be back. Great staff and beautiful lobby, just too old of a building for my liking

Excellent Representative

We recently stayed 3 nights. We visited with 2 other couples. The hotel is very pretty and perfectly situated within walking distance of most popular spots. We experienced a bit of nightlife and road noise in our room. We went to the front desk to change rooms, but given it was a busy weekend, the hotel was at full occupancy. The front desk clerk, Tamatrion was very helpful. She was pleasant, cheerful, and spoke with her manager to help us resolve the situation within their limits. She really made us feel special! She also checked us in on arrival and was also available an excellent representative then

If you are over 25 or have a car, AVOID at all cost.

Lets start with the rooms. The walls are very thin and if you're on the Canal Street side be prepared to use the complimentary ear plugs as the windows don't protect from the all night party outside. The beds are very firm (borderline hard) as well. If you have a car, BEWARE. The hotel takes no responsibility for the "as advertised" valet service. Imagine my surprise when I wanted to take a day trip and had to "shuttle" to the parking deck that my car was in. For $47 per night, I should NOT have to shuttle to my car 6 blocks away. There is plenty of parking lots much cheaper just around the corner from the hotel. When I complained to the front desk I was informed that the valet is a separate company and they had no control over it. Word of caution: If you don't plan to party all night, can't sleep like a teenager, or are bringing a car with you, avoid this hotel
